Dr. Virgil Karnatz graduated from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in 1972 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He started a successful practice in Glendale, AZ where he practiced all phases of dentistry and worked part time for the Maricopa County Health Department providing free dental services, for children in the underserved areas. In 1976, he moved to Northern California, where he practiced until he retired in 2004.
While in California, he completed the Orthodontic program for General Dentists provided by the United States Dental Institute. He was on the staff of Mt. Shasta Mercy Medical Center where he practiced hospital dentistry and was the chief dental consultant for Mt. Shasta Care Center. Dr. Karnatz was also a member of the implant study club in Redding, CA and currently is a member of the local implant study club in East Tennessee.
Dr. Karnatz was very active in his community serving twice as the Mt. Shasta Chamber of Commerce president and District Governor for Lions Clubs International district 4-C1. Dr. Karnatz now lives in Central Tennessee, on a small farm with his wife of 34 years. He has 3 children and 6 grandchildren.
