Dr. Silky Sharma, RDH, Ed.D., associate professor at Harper College in Palatine Illinois, for 15 years, holds a master’s degree from the University of Illinois in evidence-based decision making, as well as a doctorate of education from Grand Canyon University with an emphasis on adult learning.
Dr. Sharma provides courses on periodontology, advanced perio instrumentation, pain management, and oral pathology, among other topics. She also presents continuing education programs for dental colleagues nationally and internationally.
Dr. Sharma is a clinic coordinator and also a consultant dental hygiene examiner for CDCA, the national dental/dental hygiene competency assessment organization and has published articles in peer-reviewed journals. From her 20 years of work experience as a dental hygienist at a perio-focused office, she is passionate about teaching and learning from health care professionals.
