3 LIVE CE UNITS
Instructor: Dr. Vera A. Brown, D.M.D., A.R.T. Provider
This course will review the anatomy of the entire head and neck region, and not just limited to the inter-oral anatomy. This distinction is important when evaluating the bones, muscles and nerves connected with the Temporomandibular Joint. Discussion will include how head and neck anatomy plays a role in the creation of referred pain that may manifest as dental or TMJ pain. In addition, this course will cover discussion on basic anatomy considerations for both Botox/Filler and sleep disordered breathing.
After completing this course, the clinician will be able to:
- Describe the TMJ and its surrounding structures.
- Understand which muscles are important in the head and neck especially when treating pain.
- Understand which major blood vessels and nerves are important in the head and neck.
- Understand nerve entrapments; where they occur and how they refer pain.
- Understand the different saliva glands, location and function.
- Understand the anatomy of the throat and airway.
Very engaging instructor with relatable stories. She really helped liven the course up and keep it interesting. Thank you!

About Live, Interactive Continuing Education Webinars
A live, interactive webinar is similar to attending a continuing education seminar in your community, except that you attend via your computer, tablet or mobile phone. Each course is live and allows and encourages your participation. As long as you have access to a device that can play sound, you can participate in an ACES webinar. No special computer knowledge or equipment is required to participate in our webinars. When you enroll in an ACES course, you will be sent an email with the course syllabus and complete information on how to join the webinar. At the conclusion of your live webinar, you will receive an email with a link to your online quiz. Once you complete your quiz, you’ll automatically receive your continuing education certificate via email.
